Resist Newsletter: Issue 3 March 2025

      HR Dems for Political Action

The BIG THING this week:

Write a Postcard to Trump!

Postcard mail-in protest on March 15th
On March 15th, mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our opposition to him. And we, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with his unpopularity and failure. We will show the media and the politicians what standing with him — and against us — means. And most importantly, we will bury the White House post office in pink slips, all informing Donnie that he’s fired.

No alternative fact or Russian translation will explain away our record-breaking, officially-verifiable, warehouse-filling flood of fury. Hank Aaron currently holds the record for fan mail, having received 900,000 pieces in a year. We’re setting a new record: over a million pieces in a day, with not a single nice thing to say.

So sharpen your wit, unsheathe your writing implements, and see if your sincerest ill-wishes can pierce Donald’s famously thin skin.

Then, on March 15th, mail your messages to:
President Donald Trump
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

The Honorable Keith Self
U.S. House of Representatives

Collin County Office
4500 W. Eldorado Pkwy, Suite 3500
Mckinney, TX  75070

Dear Congressman Self,

I hope this letter finds you well. My name is [Your Name], and I am a constituent of Texas' 3rd Congressional District. I admire your commitment to honoring our veterans, as demonstrated by your service in the U.S. Army and continued advocacy.

However, I am deeply concerned about the recent actions of the Trump administration, particularly the "DOGE Purge," which is devastating veterans' livelihoods. Layoffs and staffing cuts at the VA are disproportionately affecting veterans who work there, leaving them jobless and further jeopardizing veterans' access to healthcare and support services. [add any personal connections to a veteran.]

I would appreciate your response on the following:

  1. How do you plan to ensure that veterans are not unjustly affected by the ongoing staff reductions at the VA and other agencies under the DOGE initiative?

  2. What steps are you taking to advocate for more protections for veterans in federal employment to safeguard their jobs and healthcare?

This issue demands urgent attention, and I trust that, as our representative, you will stand firm in defending the veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country. I look forward to your prompt response and to seeing you standing up to take the lead in protecting the well-being of those who have served.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
