HR Dems for Political Action
This newsletter will be sent out periodically to communicate political action events in Collin County and resources for influencing key political figures.
The BIG THING this week: Economic Blackout Friday, February 28
This Resist! event is soooo easy. It’s a National movement. Please participate. Anyone, anyone can go ONE DAY without buying something! Corporations and banks only care about their bottom line. If we disrupt the economy for just ONE day, it sends a powerful message.
The 24-hour Economic Blackout. Friday, February 28, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
WHAT NOT TO DO:
Do not make any purchases
Do not shop online or in-store. No Amazon, No Walmart, No Best Buy. Nowhere!
Do not spend money on: fast food, gas, major retailers
Do not use Credit or Debit Cards for non-essential spending.
WHAT YOU CAN DO (BUT TRY NOT TO)
Only buy essentials if absolutely necessary. If you must spend, ONLY support small, local businesses.
SPREAD THE MESSAGE
Talk about it, post about it, and document your actions that day!

Local Elections May 3
Local Elections will be held May 3, with early voting in late April. Mayor, Town Council Seats, and School Board Member elections are all uncontested. However, there is an important Lovejoy ISD School Bond Election on the ballot.
The Democratic Club will have a Forum on the Bond Issue April 9 at 4 p.m. in the Ballroom. SAVE THE DATE! This forum will be open to all of Heritage Ranch, as we want to increase our Democratic presence here at home.
More details coming soon.
